PITTSBURGH CARES: Volunteering Made Easy!
Pittsburgh Cares: increasing community engagement through volunteerism and enhancing the impact of regional service partners.

With over 3,500 volunteers in our network, we support more than 100 nonprofits throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region. Volunteers of all ages choose their service projects and the schedule that best fits them.

Pittsburgh Cares has several impact areas that we address including:

Adult education and literacy
Animal support
Children and youth
Community events
Disaster relief
Environmental protection and preservation
Health and wellness
Homelessness and hunger
Renovation-revitalization-repair
Senior care

Pittsburgh Cares offers the following features and programs:

Community Connections: a monthly calendar of 30-50 service projects that volunteers can register for online or by contacting the Pittsburgh Cares office.

Youth Engaged in Service: a program designed for youth 18 years old and younger who are interested in volunteering

Campus Cares: an outreach program to the region's colleges and universities to promote volunteerism to traditional and nontraditional students as well as faculty and staff

Corporate Cares: a fee-for-service program that serves the unique needs, standards and goals of small, mid-size and large companies who are committed to promoting volunteerism and engaging employees in service experiences

Pittsburgh Young Leaders Academy

Calling all students! Attend the Pittsburgh Young Leaders Academy this summer and build leadership skills for life! PYLA is designed to build bridges across the region between high school youth from suburban, urban, and rural communities while empowering youth to take action in areas that they desire change. In a society that often overlooks the power of youth, PYLA equips youth with the training necessary to problem-solve, speak out, and motivate and lead others to action.
